My name is Akouyo Delali “Dee” Ampiah, founder of QueenDee’s Braids & Locs, proudly serving the Spring, TX community. We are a family-ran beauty business specializing in African hair braiding, microlocks, and loc maintenance services. With a strong clientèle in Harris County and beyond, the salon combines traditional techniques with modern professionalism to serve clients with excellence and care. My journey in hair braiding began back in Togo as a hobby during my middle school years, where braiding was both a cultural expression and a creative outlet. After emigrating to the United States in 2008, I continued developing my craft in Greensboro, NC, before establishing a strong reputation in Baton Rouge, LA between 2017 and 2022. Now, with over 20 years of experience, QueenDee’s has flourished into a faith-driven salon brand here in Spring. I proudly carry the rich heritage of both Togo and Ghana, and the values I hold dear—especially my foundation in Christ—that have shaped this business from day one. My faith is what has anchored me through challenges and given purpose to my work.

Beyond the styling itself, what I cherish most—and often find most refining—is the human connection. Interacting with clients from all walks of life, with different backgrounds, interests, and expectations, has challenged and groomed in me patience, empathy, and grace. It’s a daily reminder that this work is deeply personal and every head I touch is more than just a client; it's a story, a relationship, and a moment to uplift someone.
